Negative Command

Negative commands are first introduced in Skill 1 of The 7 Skills to impress™, Identify Your Outcome.

Telling someone what not to do (e.g., “Don’t think of a pink elephant”) creates a negative Stroop Magnet. The subconscious ignores the word “don’t” and focuses on the unwanted action. Always frame commands positively (“Please keep your arms by your side”).
