This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use 7skills.co.uk and the 7 Skills IDQ app, why we collect it, who we share it with and what your rights are.
Who we are
7skills.co.uk is run by 7skills2impress Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17511105. Our registered office is Unit 3, Welton Road, Warwick, England CV34 5PZ. For data protection law, we are the “controller” of your personal information. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under number ZC271376.
You can contact us about anything in this policy at privacy@7skills.co.uk, or write to us at the address above.
What we collect and why
When you buy a Pressure Labs course or set up an account
We collect your first and last name, email address, country, a username and a password (stored encrypted, so we can’t see it). We use these to set up your account, give you access to the courses you’ve bought, and send you receipts and important messages about your account. The law allows this because we need it to provide what you’ve paid for.
When you pay
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our website. Stripe tells us whether the payment worked and gives us a record of the transaction, which we keep for our accounts. The law requires us to keep financial records, usually for six years.
When you sign up for emails
If you join the mailing list, or tick the box to hear from us when you buy, we use Mailchimp to send you emails. We keep your email address, your name if you give it, and basic information about whether you open our emails. We only do this with your consent, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
When you use the 7 Skills IDQ app
You can take the IDQ and see your score without giving us any personal information. The app counts how people move through the quiz (for example, how many start and how many finish), but those counts are anonymous: no name, email address or IP address is recorded, and nothing is stored in cookies.
If you create an account in the app, we keep your email address, a password (stored encrypted) and your results, so you can see your history and use the Library. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
If you ask for Pressure Reveals by email, we pass your first name, email address and score band to Mailchimp. Mailchimp then sends you an email asking you to confirm, and you are only added once you click it. If you fill in the optional survey after your score, we use the answers to improve the app.
When you send us a question
If you send a question through Members’ Questions, we keep it with your name and email address so we can answer it. We may answer it on the members’ answers page, but we only use your first name if you tick the box to say we can.
When you visit the website
Like most websites, our server keeps basic logs (such as your IP address and the pages you asked for) to keep the site secure and working. We use Independent Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It runs on our own website, doesn’t use tracking cookies and doesn’t share data with anyone else. The law allows this because we have a legitimate interest in running a secure website and knowing what’s useful to readers.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies:
- Essential cookies keep you signed in and remember your basket at checkout. The site can’t work without them.
- Pop-up cookies remember that you’ve already closed a pop-up, so you don’t keep seeing it.
- Payment cookies are set by Stripe during checkout to prevent fraud.
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t sell your information.
The 7 Skills IDQ app doesn’t set cookies. It keeps your score band in your browser for the length of your visit, so it can be carried over if you create an account, and it disappears when you close the tab.
Who we share it with
We use a few trusted companies to run the site. They only use your information to provide their service to us:
| Company | What they do |
|---|---|
| IONOS | Hosts the website and sends its emails |
| Stripe | Takes card payments |
| Mailchimp (Intuit) | Sends our emails, if you’ve signed up |
| Stores encrypted backups of the website (Google Drive), and supplies the fonts the site uses | |
| Netlify | Hosts the 7 Skills IDQ app |
| Supabase | Stores 7 Skills IDQ app accounts and results |
| ShortPixel | Speeds up images on the site |
| Sucuri | Protects the site from attacks |
| Gravatar (Automattic) | Shows a profile picture if you have one linked to your email |
| AddToAny | Provides the share buttons, if you use them |
Some of these companies are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the UK’s data bridge with the US or by standard contract terms approved by the UK government.
We never sell your information, and we only give it to anyone else if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Account and course details: while your account is open, and for up to two years after it closes, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- Payment records: six years, as the law requires.
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.
- Members’ Questions: two years after the question is answered.
- 7 Skills IDQ app accounts and results: until you delete your account, or two years after you last sign in.

- stop sending you emails, at any time
